Peskov: The date of the meeting of the Norman Four has not yet been determined

The date of the possible meeting of the leaders of the "Norman Four" is still not determined. According to Interfax, this was announced by Presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov.

Earlier on Sunday, President Vladimir Putin said that the meeting of the leaders of the Norman Four in Berlin will be appropriate only if their assistants can achieve the necessary progress.

“We agreed with the president of France and the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, when we spoke recently by phone that this meeting in Berlin would be expedient, but only if our assistants, who met, in my opinion, on Saturday and Sunday in Minsk, will advance this dialogue so far that it would give us the opportunity to consolidate these agreements at the highest level,” Putin said.

Peskov announced a possible new meeting of the Four on September 30. “This cannot be excluded,” he said then.

The Norman Four is a diplomatic group of senior representatives of Germany, Russia, Ukraine and France to resolve the situation in eastern Ukraine. The first meeting of the heads of four states took place on June 6, 2014 in Chateau de-Benuville in Normandy during the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the allied landing.

On May 24, 2016, the last negotiations of the leaders of the Four were held. They discussed the situation in eastern Ukraine by phone.
