Imam from Khasavyurt sentenced to five years in prison

The Caucasian District Military Court found Imam Magomednabi Magomedov guilty of publicly calling for terrorism and inciting hatred.

24 October 2016 Caucasian the district military court recognized the imam mosque "Vostochnaya", chairman Council of Imams of Khasavyurt Magomednabi Magomedov guilty of Part 1 Art. 205.2 of the Criminal Code (public calls for terrorism or its justification) and Part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code (inciting hatred or enmity) of the Criminal Code and sentenced him to five years in prison serving a sentence in a colony general mode. Magomedov's defense intends to appeal the verdict.

Recall the imam was accused of " February 5 in the village of East Khasavyurt in the mosque he called for a terrorist attack activities and publicly justified terrorism ."
