Russia took 75th place in the world ranking of equality between women and men

Russia took 75th place in the world ranking of equality between women and men. Statistics were published in the report of the World Economic Forum (VEF) in Geneva, reports TASS.

The first three list included Iceland, Finland and Norway. In total, 144 countries participated in the ranking. The authors of the report analyzed gender equality using the developed index of gender gap, which takes into account the position, rights and role of women and men in the social, economic and political spheres.

According to the results, Russia received 0.691 points and was located between Venezuela and Romania. The average score in the world is 0.68 points. This means that the gap in gender equal rights in Russia is overcome by 69.1% (in Iceland this indicator is 87.4%). In 2015, our country was also in 75th place.
