Racism and xenophobia. Results of October 2016

In October 2016, as a result of racist and neo-Nazi motivated attacks injured at least 4 people in Moscow and Omsk region, one of which - a native of Armenia in Omsk - died. Total since the beginning of the year, according to our data, from racist violence 5 people died and 47 were injured, three received death threats. racist attacks were recorded in 11 regions of Russia.

At least 4 acts took place in October neo-Nazi vandalism in the Kaliningrad and Rostov regions, the Republic Karelia. In total, in 2016 we recorded at least 30 acts of ideological motivated vandalism in 17 regions of the country.

The public activity of nationalists in October was low.

Annual action "In memory of the victims of ethno-crime", held on the day of the murder of Anna Beshnova, gathered in Moscow only about a dozen activists "Committee of Nation and Freedom".
