In St. Petersburg, a court authorized the arrest of six Muslims suspected of collaborating with Hizb ut-Tahrir. They will remain in custody until 30 November.
On November 9, 2016, the Kirovsky District Court of St. Petersburg authorized arrest of six Muslims.
Men were detained on November 8 as part of a criminal case under Part 1 of Art. 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (organizing the activities of a terrorist organization) and are suspected of cooperation with Hizb ut-Tahrir.
Arrested Muslims will be held in custody until 30 November.
10 November, the names of those arrested became known: natives of Dagestan A. Akhmedov, I. Akhmedov, E. Mamedov, a citizen of Tajikistan A. Yusufov and residents of St. Petersburg M. Tsvetkov and V. Shmotov.
Recall that the accusation of members of Hizb ut-Tahrir of propaganda of terrorism only on the basis of party activity (holding meetings, reading literature, etc.) and prosecuting them for anti-terrorist Articles we consider unlawful.
