In St. Petersburg, a court left in custody until the end of January six Muslims suspected of collaborating with Hizb ut-Tahrir.

November 29, 2016 Kirovsky District Court Petersburg extended the period of arrest for Muslims detained in St. Petersburg in the case Hizb ut-Tahrir.

natives Dagestan A. Akhmedov, I. Akhmedov, E. Mamedov, citizen of Tajikistan A. Yusufov and residents of St. Petersburg M. Tsvetkov and V. Shmotov will remain in custody until January 30 2017.

All they were detained on November 8, 2016 in St. Petersburg in within the framework of a criminal case under Part 1 of Art. 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (organization of activities terrorist organization).

Recall accusing members of Hizb ut-Tahrir of propagating terrorism only on the basis of party activity (holding meetings, reading literature, etc.) and we consider their persecution under antiterrorist articles unlawful.
