Racism and xenophobia. Results of November 2016

C At the beginning of 2016, 5 people died and 66 were injured from racist violence, 3 people received death threats. Racist attacks were recorded in 15 regions of Russia.

We are aware of three acts of vandalism in November 2016 of the year. In total, in 2016 we recorded at least 43 acts of ideological motivated vandalism in 25 regions of the country.

Traditionally, the main public event of autumn, organized by the ultra-right, became the "Russian March". In Moscow on People's Day Unity November 4, 2016 passed immediately several shares. The main action took place in Lyublino and gathered no more than 800 people. All in all The processions were attended by no more than 1,300 people.

In addition to Moscow, actions in one form or another took place in 11 cities (in 2015 - in 24 cities) and almost everywhere the number attendance was low.

In November 2016, we only know one a sentence handed down for hate-motivated violence. In Moscow, a court sentenced Andrei Makarov, a member of the Restrukt movement, accused of a series of robberies, robbery and hooliganism, to six years in a strict regime colony . Since the beginning of the year, at least 16 convictions for racist violence that took into account the motive hatred, against 40 people in 12 regions of the country.

For xenophobic vandalism in November was issued one verdict. - In Kazan of the Republic of Tatarstan, E. Kamalov, accused of desecration of the temple-monument of the Savior Not Made by Hands and other acts of ideological vandalism, was sent for compulsory treatment. Total in 2016 year in cases of ideologically motivated vandalism, 5 sentences against 6 people in 5 regions.

For xenophobic public appearances in November at least 7 sentences were handed down against 7 people - in 6 regions of the country. In total, in 2016, 160 sentences were handed down in such cases against 177 people in 61 regions.

The federal list of extremist materials was replenished three times (November 8, 16, and 18), #3896-3931 were added to it. List replenished the next edition of the book "The Fortress of the Muslim", neo-Nazi materials from social networks, neo-pagan materials.

In November, the Federal List of Extremist Organizations under 54 and 55 two organizations were added. - Organization of Jehovah's Witnesses of the city Elista, recognized as extremist by the decision of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kalmykia February 25, 2016; and the Community of the Indigenous Russian people of the Astrakhan region, recognized as extremist by the decision of the Soviet District Court of Astrakhan on July 21, 2016 of the year.
