Initially, he was charged with posting on one of the social networks several photographs and pictures with signatures that law enforcement agencies classified as extremist. In June 2016, the Nagatinsky District Court Moscow decided to return the case against the nationalist for investigation. The prosecutor's office appealed this decision, but lost.

On October 21, 2016, Dmitry Demushkin was detained in Moscow and placed under house arrest. arrest.
