The court abolished the arrest of 9 billion rubles in IKEA accounts

Krasninsky District Court canceled the decision to arrest 9.3 billion rubles in the accounts of the Russian representative office of IKEA after the intervention of the business ombudsman Boris Titov. This was reported by Interfax with reference to the press service of the Commissioner for Entrepreneurs.

“Blocking of accounts is an extreme security measure. You can understand when it is applied to small and new companies, one-day companies, but blocking the accounts of a large foreign company that has been operating on the Russian market for many years is an unprecedented step, ”the business ombudsman said.

Titov also sent a letter to the chairman of the Supreme Court Vyacheslav Lebedev with a request to study the situation.

Earlier, the IKEA leadership appealed to Titov with a complaint about blocking accounts.

The court decided to arrest 9.3 billion rubles on December 2 at the request of the former IKEA partner Konstantin Ponomarev.
