Kontantinov and 6 other applicants, whose cases were joined by the European Court, complained about the excessive length of their detention. Having regard to the case law on this issue, the ECtHR held that the length of the applicants' pre-trial detention was excessive. “The complaints are admissible and reveal a violation of Article 5 § 3 of the Convention. According to the decision of the ECtHR, the respondent state must pay 2,700 euros of compensation to Konstantinov within three months.
