Alexander Podrabinek: Frankly, I wanted to release an exceptionally positive program for the New Year, which would give birth to only positive emotions in which there would be neither a nightmare of the past, nor a terrible present, nor even a catastrophic future.

In fact, well, not all is so bad in Russia, even given that it wages two wars (in Syria and Ukraine), does not have a legally chosen parliament and president, and justice and law exist in it only on paper and in the imagination of state propagandists.

In the end, even in hell, you can probably find some points of enlightenment and hope. And Russia, by the way, is not even hell, especially if you compare it with some other countries, where it is even worse!

In search of positive, I turned not to the publicists or politicians who have fed in praise or, conversely, in criticism, but to those who look at our world from the height of art - inseparably, impartially and silently.

"What was good, positive in the past year?" I asked the guests of our program.

Andrei Makarevich: As for my life directly, there was a lot of positive. There were good tour, we recorded and released, in my opinion, a good record, in any case, everyone says so. There were several very interesting travels. I had, in my opinion, a worthy exhibition. In general, a lot in one year.

Alexander Podrabinek: Actress of the Moscow Contemporary Theater Leah Akhedzhakova finds something good not in politics, but in people. In good people, who are actually so many in Russia and all over the world.

Leah Akhedzhakova: I am amazed at how many amazing people on the globe. In Riga, people meet: thank you! In Canada, people with flowers go on stage, they say: thank you - thank you for Ukraine, thanks for Savchenko, thank you for having such a civic position! I come to Tyumen, and there the NOD tried, it was said on their television that I was going to arrange a Maidan. I can’t get anywhere - which Maidan? And what, to prevent a performance with my participation?

I was already scared, I thought that they would allow myself ... I even asked Ulitsa: "Lucy, what should I do? What if they throw an egg in the face during the performance?" She says: "Exit." Churikova asked: "Inna, what do you think what to do?" - "Come on, Leah, you will pull out. What, they will burn you, or something? Go, look, even interesting."

I went. The full hall of people, and it seemed to me that they showed me their love and respect, that is, the reception was much warmer than usual. Moreover, these nodes threw leaflets that "Russophobe," fifth column ", hates Russia" and so on, and people threw all these leaflets into the urns. And the applause was such that I felt: this is an answer to these efforts.

I think they are paid for, because will people have a nerves for themselves so that some artist does not come to their city? Probably pay a little.

Alexander Podrabinek: The artistic director of the "Theater at the Nikitsky Gate" Mark Rozovsky connects all the good things that were last year, primarily with his theater.

Mark Rozovsky: I primarily live the life of the theater. There were premieres in the theater, which, it seems to me, went very worthy. It is not for me, of course, to give grades, but the work was very tense and happy. My new play was released, called "man-wolf. In the footsteps of Sigmund Freud." A performance was released, which has a cheerful name "GO-GOGOL. New auditor." The latest premiere is "Oh, dear friend!" - Musical. All these works are very different in genres, for their goals - artistic, first of all. But this is our theater and this is my real life.

All good in real life is associated with personal successes

Alexander Podrabinek: In fact, everything good in real life is associated with personal successes. With creative success. With acting success.

Efim Shifrin: The actor has good? The actor immediately begins to boast, bend his fingers: if enough fingers - it is already good, if not enough, even better. But usually, one hand is enough to list all the joys.

I have these premieres. Since we are now sitting with you at the Musical Theater and trying to remember the good, we will remember the good one that is associated with these walls. Here I had the most loud premieres recently - this is the “crime and punishment” of Andrei Konchalovsky and Artemyev, where I suddenly became Porphyry Petrovich, and who also sings ... The premiere of the Princess of the Circus, the famous Kalmanovskaya operetta, who acquired completely different features in these walls, suddenly became such a clone of the zir 's dawn dwy .

Two high-profile performances happened in my century here this year, they had good responses, a good press, and in my fate they became noticeable milestones, because I did nothing in my life, did not know that the road would someday to the musical theater. Where, why? He told some tales on the stage, he was more confident in the cinema, but I did not expect that life would stop me in front of the musical. I liked this stop.

Alexander Podrabinek: What most upset you in the past year?

War is always a tragedy

Mark Rozovsky: First of all, the wars that Russia wages. War is always a tragedy. The tragedy for people who die, lose loved ones, as a rule, do not understand why this war, what it gives. We are tied to the next massacre in the Middle East. Yes, the fight against ISIS prohibited in Russia is, of course, a convincing slogan. I believe that ISIS should be done with a terrorist organization. But, one way or another, it seems that, responding to violence by violence, we still will not completely solve this issue.

Efim Shifrin: Of course, everything that is upsetting an ordinary person upsets me, only I respond to it, maybe a little more sensitive. I am upset by our disorder, stomping in place. I am upset by the lack of national consent. In my opinion, we somehow slightly crossed the line behind which we even stopped wanting it.

It seems to me that we are losing attempts. After the third introduction of the wrong cipher into an iPhone or a smartphone, you lose the opportunity to enter there. But we have already scored the wrong code 10, 15, 20 times, and we are denied ... We do not make attempts to reconcile with each other even at the level of Facebook, even inside the liberal or inside the patriotic party.

I am upset by the lack of national consent

I understand everything: people cannot think and act the same way, but attempts to understand each other, it seems to me, should be. But, in my opinion, we have already left these attempts behind, and we just like not to try.

Alexander Podrabinek: Some say that fate - at least one person, at least a whole country - is like a zebra: black stripes alternate with bright ones. True, no one knows the width of these stripes. What promises us the next year?

Andrei Makarevich: I try not to engage in forecasts, because, waiting for negativity, we program the future, and expecting positive, it is easy to jinx. Therefore, it is not worth it. Wait and see. This is interesting.

Alexander Podrabinek: Even such an optimist in life as Leah Akhedzhakova is pessimistic.

Leah Akhedzhakova: I generally look at tomorrow pessimistic, although there are already a lot of people like me. I am walking along the street, they meet me, and everything that they tell me, I take it to heart, because we seem to be from the same class, from only teachers, all our native people.

The feeling that they are about all, millions, will come out in a protest, I don't have

Wherever I will come to Russia and the former Soviet Union ... And even our emigration in America and Israel are the same people like me, and they also look at all these ourselves of our bells and whistles. But I have no feeling that they are about all, millions, I have no protest. Everything is done so that the protest is very expensive.

Alexander Podrabinek: Mark Rozovsky would very much like to feel like an optimist.

Mark Rozovsky: How do I want to say on the New Year, that I expect only heyday, prosperity ... How I want to say that everything will be fine, guys ... How I want to wish everyone happiness, health, success in my personal life, in love ... I want to wish what is called the happiness of mankind.

It all depends on us.

My feeling, unfortunately, is not so radiant today. I want to believe, but everything that happens around is contrary to this.

I do not believe too that next year Russia suddenly ceases to trust these nationalists who pushes us into the past: at all costs, by any means to push us in Soviet times. Everything, starting with the revival of the national anthem ... And then - by bit, according to trifles every month: let's stuff all our society and an individual there ... First, we will tell you how good it was during the Soviet regime, all were happy, there was no corruption, there was no crime ...

All this deception, all this nonsense, with the help of propagated propaganda, which has grown up to unprecedented sizes, falls on a real person, and the real person is disoriented, first of all, in the fact that there is evil and what is good.

Alexander Podrabinek: Efim Shifrin connects the hopes for the best future with new generations and believes that our anxiety may be somewhat exaggerated.

Efim Shifrin: I rarely watch TV, but now there is a popular program of Max Galkin's “Best of anyone”, where he talks with talented children. It seems to me that this is the straw that we all have to grab. Not for the transfer, not for Galkin - for these children, which are tomorrow, because they live tomorrow. Perfect clever, children of Indigo , as they say now, are some completely amazing ingenious children ...

It seems to me that we are a little exaggerating our anxieties

One said something about the theory of strings, and he still has a wet nose, he may not say all the letters ... and I understand that with a gloomy face this boy is simply indecent in tomorrow. It seems to me that the more hopes we have on such children, the more we help them, the more we think about them, the less we will think about the hopelessness of tomorrow.

Here, behind the wall I have a dressing room, there is my table on the right, there are four and there are four tables, behind them, people are twice younger than me, put themselves in order, listen to music. If you explain the circle of worries that arise in the process of our conversation, they will be terribly surprised. They live in their coordinate system, in which there is no much of what seems to us to be urgent. "How, you have not read this, you do not know that? Do you imagine what is happening?" Do not imagine. They feed their families, try in different performances, earn wherever possible, and no drama is worth it. They can leave. They looked at all the Broadway musicals, specially traveled to the States to adopt, learn this experience, and returned miraculously.

I'm trying to understand them, I like to understand them. I recognize myself as a 20-year-old in them, although I grew up in another country where the resistance to the regime was more desperate. Some did not notice him, others entered the confrontation with him, and others generally went into stoker. I do not see now the tenth of the vicissitudes of that locked, completely closed state in which my youth passed.

I now check with them. I can be mistaken, but it seems to me that we are a little exaggerating our anxieties, and if we do not exaggerate, then this is our cross, maybe the sign of our generation. But I want to believe.

The near future does not really inspire special optimism

Alexander Podrabinek: The near future does not really inspire special optimism. However, fate sometimes throws such a knee, which is difficult to imagine in advance.

Didn’t it happen in the life of everyone so that the hopeless darkness unexpectedly dispersed, and life acquired a new meaning?

Mark Rozovsky: Of course, it happened. You know, in the 60s, none of us even in a bad dream could imagine that the Soviet government would someday collapse. No one was in the brains.

Alexander Podrabinek: Indeed, good events are predicted for some reason more difficult than bad ones. Efim Shifrin, a person who is exclusively positive, believes that the bad is remembered better.

Efim Shifrin: Do you know why people peck at gloom faster? Because the bad is more remembered. No matter how much people assure themselves that only the good should be remembered, the good is immediately forgotten, it is in the order of things. We remember the bad for a long time, and our vindictiveness is understandable, because the poor hurts the pain, it scratches, and so far it will heal ... And the good slipped, stroked, amused ... Good is massage for the soul, and the bad is a wound, so it leaves a trace.

The bad is more remembered

It seems to me that the mistake of all this liberal opposition discourse is that the arrows are always filled with poison. In principle, the experience of our great and enduring value, Russian literature, which was also attributed to critical realism at school, that they were all not tired of mocking. All this Gogol road is paved with a rather cheerful parquet, mosaic. Here are "dead souls", but they are funny ... Anyway, there is some hope behind all this. Let us also leave this hope for ourselves, we will assume that homeostasis in our large cage is supported by the fact that the bad one still does not outweigh the good.

Alexander Podrabinek: Well, and the sacramental Russian question: "What to do?"

You need to do your own thing when you have the strength and ability to do this

Andrei Makarevich: At some point, I came to the conclusion that it is pointless to stand in the middle of empty space and screaming, how bad everything is, today it is pointless. Those who think just like you, and so they know it, and they will not deliver it to them, and those who think otherwise will not hear you anyway. So this is a shocking air. You have to do your own thing when you have the strength and ability to do it.

Leah Akhedzhakova: I don’t know what to do, I myself said what to do. Apparently, nothing will have to be done.

There is salvation. Still, our culture always survives contrary to, and for this a low bow to it.

Efim Shifrin: It seems to me that the moral imperative has never changed at all, in any era. He did not change either in the war or in the Golden Age, if he was someday in the history of Russia. He cannot change by definition. A person must do what is possible, what the circumstances allow.

I don’t know if we live at a time when we must sacrifice life. Life is still a value that cannot be thought up thoughtlessly. Even in the most difficult minute, at a moment of despair, you need to find in itself some kind of valve that will allow you to breathe and think what can be done in these circumstances. Read Viktor Frankl , read the prisoners of the Gulag, read Varlam Shalamov , if you like. Nowhere is there a more accurate clue what to do to a person in difficult circumstances.

The moral imperative has never changed at all, in any era

It seems to me that the current complexity of circumstances is greatly exaggerated. But if they really seem very dramatic to someone, act, please use the palette that God has given you, draw those colors that are permissible. It seems to me that the theory of small deeds, which some of my friends, beaten in battles, are very laughing at, is the best that you can do now. You can laugh at anything: both at great deeds and the small ones. But we so often want big things, without starting with the small ones-without trying to remove our apartment, to do something within the limits of our yard, the site. We need to immediately crush the foundations. Wait, decide here, you are not removed in that corner.

Mark Rozovsky: I will not say absolutely nothing new, Alexander Isaevich Solzhenitsyn clearly said - to live not by lies. Lev Nikolaevich Tolstoy said: do your job, and there be what will happen. These are excellent formulations that give each of us some kind of internal spiritual support. Isn't it? Love your wife, love your children, and if you have fallen in love with your mistress, then tell your wife about it and live with your mistress, be honest to the end.

It does not change for years, because for the New Year people find ways and methods for reconciliation, find words (albeit banal) to wish happiness, health. I really want this year to be a year of smaller losses than the outgoing.
