Earlier, the press service of the Ministry of Culture said that the preservation of the museum functions of the Isaac's Cathedral when transferring the Russian Orthodox Church is possible only theoretically, Interfax reports .
“We believe that when transferring the Isaac's Cathedral, the preservation of current museum functions is possible only theoretically. The joint use of the museum and the current temple is fraught with a number of difficulties, including a cardinal difference in the implementation of museum and religious functions, ”the ministry explained.
