In January 2017, in Essentuki, Stavropol Territory, a court fined a minor converted to Islam under Part 1 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code (inciting national hatred or enmity).
According to the case file, the schoolgirl converted to Islam. She left comments on the video, "which contains implicit calls to take part in the armed struggle for the faith." In her statements, the schoolgirl "approved ... calls for hostile actions, and also personally called for enmity between religious groups." In court, the defendant was accused of admitted, repented of their deeds.
The schoolgirl was fined 50 thousand rubles.
The court also issued private rulings against the head of the education department of the city of Essentuki, the director of the school where the convict studied, and the head of a religious organization.
