The authorities of St. Petersburg transfer to the Church the former academic library building, which now houses the collections of the National Library of Russia

On January 11, 2017, it became known that the authorities of St. transferred to the Russian Orthodox Church the building of the library of the St. Academy (Bypass Canal, 11).

The building was built in the 1880s, included in the Unified State Register of Monuments history and culture as an object of cultural heritage of regional significance.

WITH 1965 the building belongs to the National Library of Russia, currently library collections are kept here for a long time.

According to Interfax, the decision to The transfer of the church building was accepted in 2015.
