The main military prosecutor's office of Ukraine received from the UN official photocopy of the statement of ex-president Viktor Yanukovych of March 1, 2014 with a request to introduce Russian troops into Ukraine.
This was announced on his Facebook by the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuri Lutsenko.
“The main military prosecutor’s office received from the permanent representative office of Ukraine the official letter of the UN Secretariat with the provision of the Ukrainian side certified by the UN photo of the photocopy of Yanukovych’s statement of 03/01/2014 with a request to introduce troops of the Russian Federation to Ukraine and all the official materials that were added from the Russian Federation to the statement of the Russian Federation to the UN Churkin,” Lutsenko wrote.
“All materials received by the Ukrainian investigation were recognized by the UN official documents that the Russian Federation provided,” he emphasized.
On March 3, 2014, the Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation at the UN Vitaly Churkin read out the appeal of Yanukovych, in which, in particular, it was noted: “I am addressing Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin with a request to use the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation to restore the legality, peace, law enforcement, stability and protection of the population of Ukraine.”
