In St. Petersburg, the persecution of programmer Dmitry Ugay, who gave a lecture on yoga, was stopped

In St. Petersburg, the case of Dmitry Ugay, who was detained by the police in October 2016 due to the fact that he gave a lecture on yoga and "talked about yoga as a connection with God," was dismissed.  

On January 18, 2017, the Smolninsky District Court of St. Petersburg terminated the proceedings in the case of Dmitry Ugay, accused of "illegal" missionary work.

Recall that the programmer Dmitry Ugay, for a lecture on yoga, read at the city festival "Vedalife", was detained by police in October 2016 of the year. Two months later, he learned that a administrative case under Part 4 of Art. 5. 26 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (carrying out missionary activities in violation of requirements of the legislation on freedom of conscience, freedom of religion and religious associations). The reason for initiating the case was the appeal to the police of one of the listeners, according to whom, D. Ugay "he spoke about yoga not as a physical exercise, but as a connection with God."

On February 6, it became known that the district police officer Arsen Magomedov applied to the Smolninsky District Court with a complaint against the decision to dismiss the case against D. Ugaya.

On March 13, 2017, the Smolninsky District Court denied A. Magomedov's complaint.
