Kazan: system administrator sent for compulsory treatment

In Kazan, a local resident who posted videos on the social network was sent to a psychiatric hospital for compulsory treatment.

In January 2017, a sentence was passed in Kazan in the criminal case of a 27-year-old system administrator of the Zarnitsa Production Association. He was found guilty under paragraph “b” of Part 2 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code (inciting hatred or enmity committed by a person using his official position.

The court found that in November 2015, the system administrator posted extremist videos in one of the folders of the company's local network. All employees of the enterprise had free access to the folder.

According to a forensic psychological and religious expertise, the videos "contain ideas belonging to an international terrorist organization, whose activities in Russia are prohibited by the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, and are aimed at inciting interethnic hatred, enmity on the grounds of nationality, and attitudes towards religion. "

The man showed signs of a chronic mental illness, which made it impossible for him to realize the actual nature and social danger of his actions.

The court imposed compulsory medical measures on him in the form of compulsory treatment in a general psychiatric hospital.

The man has already received 10 days of administrative arrest under Art. 20.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (public demonstration of attributes or symbols of an extremist organization) for publication in this the same network of images of the symbols of the terrorist banned in Russia organizations.
