The wife of the prisoner Andrei Krekova, who should pay 50 thousand rubles of compensation for the Arkhangelsk colony-settlement for the time in the hospital, said that her husband was treated at the same hospital for the compulsory medical insurance a couple of months ago. She stated this in an interview with The Insider.
“He had a compulsory medical insurance policy, and moreover, they knew about it in the colony, because two months ago he was treated in the same hospital, only in the infectious department, completely free. And now the leadership has chosen such a position that since it was on a hunger strike, this is deliberate harm to health, although in reality my husband did not sign any paper that I agreed to pay for paid treatment. And we learned that they put us a lawsuit only after treatment, ”she said.
Recall that the colony filed a lawsuit against Krekov, demanding to pay for the hospital’s services and compensate for material damage allegedly caused by a hunger strike. Thus, a separately prisoner was presented for gasoline, spent when transported to the hospital and back - 1,901 rubles per 46 liters (more than 41 rubles per liter), as well as for organizing supervision in the hospital “outside the standard length of the working day”.
In July 2015, the Arkhangelsk lawyer was sentenced to 2.8 years in prison, finding him guilty of violence against a representative of the authorities (part 1 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code). According to the investigation, the Krekov’s handcuffs bit the policeman on the thigh, which made the victim’s body with a trace - a straight scratch of 1 cm per 1 mm. The lawyer claimed that the case against him was initiated after he himself complained about the UK of beating in the Arkhangelsk police department.
