A representative of the Russian Orthodox Church became an adviser to the Speaker of the State Duma

Deputy Chairman of the Synodal Department A. Shchipkov was appointed advisor to the Speaker of the State Duma.

On February 3, 2017, it became known that State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin appointed Alexander Shchipkov, Deputy Chairman of the Synodal Department for Church Relations with Society and the Media, as his advisor on a voluntary basis.

According to the Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Public Associations and Religious Organizations Sergei Gavrilov, A. Shchipkov will participate in working with religious organizations on issues of freedom of conscience and the specifics of family law.

Previously, A. Shchipkov was an adviser to the Speaker of the Federation Council Sergei Mironov.
