The Samara Regional Court approved the fine imposed on Jehovah's Witnesses in Chapaevsk

The decision of the Chapaevsky City Court was approved, which found the local community of Jehovah's Witnesses guilty of possessing banned brochures for the purpose of distributing them.

On February 7, 2017, the Samara Regional Court approved decision of the Chapaevsky City Court, which on November 14, 2016 fined religious organization of Jehovah's Witnesses for 150 thousand rubles Art. 20.29 of the Code of Administrative Offenses for the storage of extremist materials for the purpose of their mass distribution.

Prohibited literature was found in the premises of the community prayer house in September 2016, after which an administrative case was initiated .

In autumn 2015, a local religious organization of Jehovah's Witnesses in Chapaevsk received a prosecutor's warning about the inadmissibility of extremist activities, and it was not possible to challenge its legality .

After the decision of the regional court enters into into force, the organization may be liquidated for repeated implementation extremist activity.

Recall that we are considering liquidation of organizations of Jehovah's Witnesses for extremism, persecution of their members communities and text bans as religious discrimination.
