The Ministry of Defense called a mistake to order 20 thousand medals for participating in the war in Syria

The Russian Ministry of Defense said that it made a mistake when placing a state order for the manufacture of medals for participating in a campaign in Syria. It is reported by TASS.

As specified in the defense department, “Information on the alleged purchase of the Russian Ministry of Defense 20 thousand departmental medals is not true. The Ministry of Defense conducts procurement procedures providing for the manufacture of medals in the amount of 2 thousand copies. ” “In the shortest possible time, all the necessary changes will be made to the competitive documentation on the electronic auction,” the representative of the Ministry of Defense explained.

Earlier on the public procurement website , an order for 20 thousand medals “participant in the military operation in Syria” appeared. According to the document, the Ministry of Defense planned to allocate 45 million rubles for the manufacture of more than 150 thousand departmental medals and commemorative signs. In particular, the document stated that the agency intends to order 20 thousand medals “for surgery in Syria” and 50 medals “for the release of Palmyra” and “for the clearance of palmira”.
