The Governor of the Ryazan Region Oleg Kovalev filed an application to the president of early reservation, TASS reports with reference to the statement of the governor.

Kovalev reported his decision at a meeting of the regional government. The head of the region said that he did not intend to nominate his candidacy for the election of the governor in September 2017.

Recall that yesterday Vladimir Putin accepted the resignation of the governor of the Novgorod region Sergey Mitin. The former head of the region announced his resignation on the morning of February 13. He stated that he would not go to the autumn elections and asked the president of the country to "give him a new assignment."
