The authorities are countering in every possible way the plans of supporters of Alexei Navalny to hold anti-corruption events in dozens of cities on March 26. Shares are not approved under various pretexts . Organizers of rallies in different regions are arrested on trumped-up charges , summoned to the police , fined for inviting them to rallies on social networks, and protocols are drawn up for holding meetings with activists. Volunteers are detained for passing stickers.

More Navalny

In parallel with preparations for the action against corruption, Navalny is opening election headquarters in different cities. And here it cannot be done without forceful attacks. In Barnaul, Navalny was doused with brilliant green . In St. Petersburg, the door of his headquarters was set on fire . And in Volgograd they dragged him by the legs and almost beat him.

In the Bryansk region, a schoolboy for creating a group in social networks in support of Navalnywas sent to the police , where they demanded that his account be deleted . In Krasnoyarsk, a university teacher was fired for showing the film “He’s Not Dimon to You.” In Orenburg, the coordinator of the “Spring” youth movementwas summoned to the rector , who asked him questions about Navalny. In Moscow, the famous blogger Norwegian Forest was detained for going to Red Square with a green face as a sign of support for Navalny.

Not only Navalny: opposition to meetings

A truckers' strike is planned for March 27 across the country. In Vladivostok, about 12 people were detained during a meeting of truck drivers: the police said they had received information about a meeting of thieves-authorities. In the Krasnodar Territory, an activist who was distributing leaflets about an upcoming strike was arrested for three days.

And on March 28, Krasnodar farmers planned a “tractor march.” However, its organizer Alexei Volchenko was arrested for 12 days for allegedly not paying child support. Another participant in the “tractor march,” Oleg Petrov, had his passport taken away by the police.

In St. Petersburg, within a week, judge of the Dzerzhinsky District Court Vladimir Vasyukov fined ten thousand three participants in the feminist action on March 8 , elderly activist Igor Andreev , who was accused of walking along the building during a single picket, and activist Varvara Mikhailova for picketing near a colony in Segezha.

In Murmansk, the authorities did not approve three marches against the inflated costs of utilities, food and public transport, and in Moscow, a rally against the demolition of five-story buildings . In addition, in the capital, the police demanded that the party in the Theater.doc space be canceled .

The Moscow City Court recognized the legality of equating meetings of deputies with citizens to rallies.

The Constitutional Court clarified that the police can detain a person conducting a single picket only if it is impossible to ensure security. The very next day, two participants in single pickets with posters were detained in St. Petersburg, where the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Vyacheslav Makarov was depicted as a demon.

Criminal prosecutions and other types of pressure

Sergei Mokhnatkin, who had his spine broken in custody, was sentenced to two years in prison in a maximum security colony for allegedly hitting a FSIN officer.

Also on the subject of the thaw: two Ufa residents accused of involvement in Hizb ut-Tahrir had their suspended sentences replaced with four years in a general regime colony.

In Stavropol, the head of the local branch of Youth Yabloko, Kirill Bobro, was arrested for two months: he was accused of drug possession. Bobro himself claims that the drugs were planted on him.

A graduate student at Moscow State University was detained and beaten for hanging a Ukrainian flag from his dormitory window. In addition, he was forced to sign a document stating that he agreed to be an FSB informant. Ukrainian journalist Roman Tsymbalyuk was detained during an interview with a graduate student.
