The Russian Orthodox Church intends to continue the litigation for the buildings of the Starocherkassk Museum

The Don diocese filed a complaint against the decision of the court, which refused transfer the buildings of the Starocherkassk Historical and Architectural Museum-Reserve to running the church.  

March 30, 2017 it became known that the Don diocese intends to challenge the decision of the Arbitration Court Rostov Region, which in October 2016 declared illegal the decision Ministry of Property of the Rostov Region on the transfer of the Ataman Palace to property of the diocese. This decision was later upheld by the 15th Appeal area court.

Consideration of a complaint in the Arbitration Court of the North Caucasian Federal district in Krasnodar is scheduled for April 11.

Recall that the diocese claims on four museum buildings, including the palace of the chieftains of the Efremovs. Employees of Starocherkassky Historical and Architectural Museum-Reserve, Society for the Protection of Monuments history and culture and the local Cossacks opposed the transfer buildings.
