The ruble exchange rate has now significantly deviated from its “model level”, in the near future it should decrease and at the end of the year to amount to 68 rubles per dollar. According to Interfax, this said Minister of Economic Development Maxim Oreshkin.
According to him, such a course is expected in the basic scenario of the Ministry of Economic Development with a decrease in oil prices by the end of the year to $ 40 per barrel.
If oil prices are preserved at the current level, then, according to the forecast of the minister, the rate will be 63-64 rubles per dollar.
Oreshkin also expects that if the ruble exchange rate is maintained, then the Central Bank will more aggressively reduce the key rate, otherwise the inflation at the end of the year would be significantly lower than the target of 4% and could be even below 3%.
Besides. According to the mayor’s forecast, in 2017, GDP will grow by 2% after a decline by 0.2% last year, but in 2018–2020, economic growth will only be 1.5% annually.
