The Secretary General of the Council of Europe called on Moskalkov to investigate messages about the persecution of gays in Chechnya

The Secretary of General of the Council of Europe Turbieern Jagund urged the Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia Tatyana Moskalkova to investigate media reports about the abductions, torture and murder of homosexuals in Chechnya. The corresponding appeal is published on the website of the Council of Europe.

“I am sure that your office knows about these messages. Given the seriousness of these statements, I am sure that you will study them with due attention, ”writes Jagland.

The Secretary General of the Council of Europe also asked Moskalkov to inform him about the results of the investigation.
