In March 2017, they were convicted in Arkhangelsk musicians from the "Angry Grandfather" group for performing a xenophobic songs at a concert in a club. In April 2017 in Arkhangelsk, under Part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code (inciting national hatred) two musicians were convicted.

According to the case file , in May 2015, during a performance at a music club, the defendants sang a song, " the words of which contain humiliating characteristics and negative emotional assessments of one of the ethnic groups ." According to the video recording of the song made during the performance, a psychological and linguistic examination was carried out, " according to the conclusions of which the presented video files contain signs of humiliation of human dignity on the basis of nationality and incitement of hatred ".

Later it became known that the song was anti-Semitic.

During interrogations, the defendants admitted their guilt and repented of their deeds. They explained that the song was written a long time ago, " when they were carried away by the national idea of ​​Russian society ", and had not been performed publicly before.

The Oktyabrsky District Court of Arkhangelsk sentenced the musicians to two years and two months' imprisonment with a suspended sentence of one year's probation. The verdict of the court has not entered into force.
