The head doctor of the prison hospital filed a lawsuit for one hundred thousand rubles against the convicted lawyer Krekov, who called him a “stuffed animal”

The chief doctor of the hospital in the system of the Arkhangelsk State Federal Penitentiary Service, Dmitry Prokhorov, filed a lawsuit for one hundred thousand rubles against lawyer Andrei Krekov, convicted of using violence against a government official.

A copy of the lawsuit was posted on Facebook by the head of the human rights organization Sitting Russia, Olga Romanova. According to the document, on February 16, 2017, Krekov, while in the corridor of the punishment cell of penal colony settlement No. 3 in the Arkhangelsk region, said the following phrase to Prokhorov: “Are you going to teach me, stuffed animal?” This incident, the lawsuit says, was recorded on a video recorder in the presence of witnesses - prison guards.

“This statement humiliates my honor, good name and dignity, since it is expressed in an indecent form, is directly offensive in nature (appealing to “you”, “stuffed animal”), and does not correspond to reality […],” writes Prokhorov. According to him, as a result of the defendant’s actions, he felt “a feeling of resentment, helplessness, insecurity,” “embarrassment and embarrassment due to the presence of third parties,” “the impossibility of responding due to his position,” and “a situational rise in blood pressure.” As the head physician notes, within 20 minutes after the incident he “had a headache,” which is why he asked the paramedic to measure his blood pressure, which exceeded the norm. As a result, Prokhorov notes, he had to take medicine.

“Taking into account the circumstances of the harm and the degree, depth and duration of the physical and mental suffering I endured, I estimate compensation for moral damage in the amount of 100 thousand rubles,” writes the head physician.

Krekov ended up in Prokhorov’s department after another hunger strike. A year ago, he went on a hunger strike for 27 days, after which he was taken to hospital in critical condition. Then the colony filed a lawsuit against the prisoner and won . The court ordered him to compensate for the damage - to return the money for gasoline used when transporting the prisoner to the hospital - and to pay for treatment. The total amount was more than 50 thousand rubles.

Krekov was sentenced to almost three years in prison in July 2015. According to investigators, the handcuffed lawyer bit the policeman in the thigh. The case against Krekov was initiated after his complaint to the Investigative Committee about beating at the Arkhangelsk police department.
