US Secretary of State put forward an ultimatum in Syria to Russia

Russia must decide whose position it is ready to maintain on the Syrian issue: the USA and the allies or regime of President Bashar al -Assad, Iran and the Hezbollah movement. This was stated by US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, reports Assoeded Press.

“It is clear to all of us that the Board of the Assad family is coming to an end,” Tillerson said. “We want to facilitate the suffering of the Syrian people. Russia can become part of this future and play an important role or remain an ally of this group, which, we believe, will not meet the interests of Russia in the long run, ”he said.

In the Ministry of Defense of Russia, in response, hope for “productive negotiations”, which will take place during the Tillerson visit to Russia. The department noted that the results of negotiations are important not only within the framework of Russian-American relations, but also for the general atmosphere in the world arena.
