Vasilieva proposes to reduce the number of graduate students ten times

The Minister of Education Olga Vasilieva called for reducing the number of graduate students in Russian universities to two or three people at the department instead of today, reports TASS.

“Pointing should become priority, it should really educate researchers. And this should not be a flow of 25 people, there should be two or three graduate students at the department, ”the minister said.

According to her, before the defense of the candidate was a real event, and the defense of the doctoral was “an event of life”. “Here you need to return to this if you are engaged in science. We will work on it, ”Vasilieva said.

According to her, the rector must have authority to personally distribute budget places in graduate school in specialties. “After you put your soul and strength into it, he must defend himself. This is understandable. And not to get a certificate and go where it is, ”said Vasilieva.
