“Employees of the FSB and the Russian Guard stopped the activities of a religious and extremist cell of five people who were recruiting to the ranks of the IG to participate in hostilities in the Middle East. A criminal case has been instituted against the leader of the cell under the article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Promoting terrorist activities,” the department said.
The administration said that the detainees took religious and extremist literature and videos that promote the activities of IS. “Investigative and operational -search measures are ongoing,” the FSB said.
