Presidential candidates of the Russian Academy of Sciences will be agreed with the authorities. According to RBC, Valery Kozlov, acting head of the Russian Academy of Sciences, stated this.
“We must in some ways agree on candidates with authorities. And with the presidential administration, and with the White House. And the Ministry of Education and Science is not indifferent to who will lead the Russian Academy of Sciences. I'm not talking about the Federal Agency for Scientific Organizations - we are very firmly connected, ”said Kozlov.
First of all, presidential candidates must arrange the scientific community itself, he emphasized. “We must come to the consensus,” Kozlov concluded.
He also said that the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences appointed the presidential presidential election on September 26, 2017. The general meeting of academics and the elections themselves will be held from September 25 to October 2.
According to Kozlov, the Presidium settled the situation with documents, due to which the previous elections did not take place.
