In the Sakhalin region, a criminal case has been initiated against a 29-year-old resident of the city of Okha for xenophobic publications on social networks.
In April 2017, a criminal case was opened in the city of Okha against a 29-year-old local resident. He is suspected under Part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (inciting hatred or enmity, as well as humiliation of human dignity).
According to investigators, in December 2016, the suspect posted in the public domain on his page on one of the sites, " information through which public incitement of hatred, enmity, humiliation of the dignity of a group of persons on the basis of gender, race, nationality, language, origin, relationship to religion, as well as belonging to any social group ."
The defendant had previously been convicted of a similar act.
