Art. 5.26 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (implementation of missionary activities in violation of the requirements legislation on freedom of conscience, freedom of religion and religious associations) was initiated against six residents of Nizhny Tagil, Protestants, one of whom is the director of the Charitable Foundation "Rehabilitation center".
foundation to initiate proceedings were errors in the document. According to the prosecutor, “the issued certificate for carrying out missionary activity was drawn up in violation of formal requirements, namely, there was no indication the full name of the local religious organization”.
The defense, however, managed to prove that permission to carry out missionary activities was not required at all, because it was about holding worship services in a rented religious organization of the premises (under an agreement on the gratuitous use of the building and land plot of the rehabilitation center).
