Kyiv: RF supplied electricity to the LPR even before the supply from Ukraine is disconnected

Russia supplied electricity to the regions of the Luhansk region uncontrolled by Kyiv until the supply from the territory of Ukraine. According to Interfax, this was stated by the Minister of Ukraine on the issues of temporarily occupied territories and internally displaced persons Vadim Chernysh.

“As far as we know, the supply of electricity from the territory of the Russian Federation took place earlier. They were conducted through the Victory substation, which is located almost on the state border between the Russian Federation and Ukraine, ”Chernysh said.

According to the minister, the substation has a voltage of 500KV. “We knew that this is an alternative path of supplying electricity. Another question is that this territory is controlled by Russia and militants, and we do not know the exact volumes of supplies, ”the minister said.

He also noted that the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine has long warned of the prepared shutdown. “There is no guilt of Ukraine in this, the guilt is rested with the Russian side and people who de facto control the territory of individual regions of the Luhansk region,” Chernysh said.

Earlier, Russia Boris Gryzlov, the authorized representative of Russia in the contact group to resolve the situation in the east of Ukraine, said that the supply of electricity to the regions of the Luhansk Region, which is disconnected from Ukrainian networks, occur by decision of the Russian government.

“I note that for the residents of Donbass in the conditions of a conscious economic blockade from Ukraine there is no opportunity to pay for electricity. This question, of course, will be discussed tomorrow on the contact group and its economic subgroup, ”added Gryzlov.
