The Turkish court refused to unlock access to "Wikipedia"

The Ankara Criminal Court rejected the request of the Vikimedia Foundation to remove the lock from Wikipedia, which prohibits access to the site throughout Turkey. This was reported by Anadolu.

The blocking of access to Wikipedia in Turkey was reported on April 29. The Turkish authorities explained this decision to the portal’s refusal to delete materials that allegedly defaming Ankara. (As the media wrote, in particular, it was about the fact that Turkish President Recep Erdogan appeared in the encyclopedia as a “dictator”).

At the same time, the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the country said that the administration of the Internet Encyclopedia has repeatedly informed about the need to refuse to post “false and unreasonable information about allegedly existing Ankara relations with terrorist organizations”, but the materials were not edited.
