In Smolensk, a case has been opened against a 23-year-old local resident for posting xenophobic materials on the VKontakte social network.

In May 2017, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Smolensk Region initiated a criminal case against a 23-year-old resident of Smolensk. He is suspected under Part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code (inciting national hatred or enmity).

According to investigators, the suspect posted on his page on the social network "VKontakte" in free access " recordings, videos, graphic images aimed at inciting hatred or enmity ."
