The Yekaterinburg administration allowed the construction of the temple, despite the protests of the townspeople

The administration of Yekaterinburg ignored the opinion of the townspeople who spoke against the construction of a “temple-on-water”, and gave permission for the creation of an artificial land for the construction of the temple.  

May 22, 2017 on the website of the administration of Yekaterinburg published permission to create an artificial land plot in the water area of ​​the city pond. On this site it is planned to build a church in the name of St. vmts. Catherine. Construction could start as early as May 2018 and be completed by May 2023.

Recall that the idea of ​​building a temple in this place caused mass protests of citizens. “With this project, the authorities demonstrate that they don’t give a damn they wanted the opinion of the townspeople and sociology, which shows that 42% are against construction, and "for" - only 22%. They don't want no dialogue, no go to discussions, they will continue their treacherous line of imposing no one actually needs construction ,” said an activist of the public movement "Committee of the City Pond" Dmitry Moskvin.
