Hizb ut-Tahrir case brought to court in Ufa

In Ufa, a case on involvement in Hizb ut-Tahrir was submitted to the court. Accusation of participation in the activities of a terrorist organization and attempted murder violent seizure of power brought against 21 Muslims.  

In early June 2017, it became known that the case had been brought to court 23 Muslims detained in February 2015 in Bashkiria on suspicion of involvement in Hizb ut-Tahrir.

Aramis Fazylov (born in 1991) is accused of 2 Art. 205.5 CC (participation in a terrorist organization). Rustem Latypov (born 1976), Linar Vakhitov (born 1983), Radik Akhmetov (born 1997), Fanis Akhmetshin (born 1963), Rustem Gallyamov (born 1981), Ilgiz Himaletdinov (born in 1988), Azamat Kayumov (born in 1982), Alexander Kornev (born 1987), Radmir Maksutov (born in 1984), Farid Mustafaev (born in 1987), Khalil Mustafin (b. 1984), Rinat Nurligayanov (born in 1991), Artur Salimov (born 1986), Irek Tagirov (b. 1989), Danis Faizrakhmanov (born in 1988), Rafael Fattakhov (b. 1980), Ruslan Fattakhov (b. 1980), Rustem Khamzin (b. 1972), Shamil Sharipov (born 1977) and Ural Yakupov (b. 1991) – po ch. 2 Art. 205.5 of the Criminal Code (participation in a terrorist organization) and ch. 1 st. 30, St. 278 of the Criminal Code (attempt to seize power by force).

Preliminary hearings in the case took place on May 31, 1 and 2 June. The start of the open trial is scheduled for June 15.

Recall that human rights activists reported numerous violations in this case. Since the arrest, 20 accused are in custody (Three were placed under house arrest). The Memorial Society recognized all defendants as political prisoners. We believe that accusing members of Hizb ut-Tahrir of promoting terrorism only on the basis of party activities (holding meetings, reading literature, etc.) and persecuting them under anti-terrorist articles is unlawful.
