On June 16, the New Gazeta published an article in which she spoke about the adolescent phenomenon of AUE - the abbreviation can be deciphered as the “prisoner’s way” or “arresting Urkagan unity”. According to the observer of the “New” Alexei Tarasov, the abbreviation became “real ideology” and “object of worship” among adolescents prone to crime. It is used as an exclamation-conjunction to identify “your or foe”, in attacks on citizens. The “New Gazeta” calls Aue “New Pioneering” and says that without a thorough study of the AUE phenomenon, it is impossible to understand the criminalization of modern adolescents - according to the newspaper, it has reached frightening scale. To figure out where the concept of Aue came from and whether it poses a real threat, Medusa spoke with a lawyer, an anthropologist and criminologists.

What is said in the text of "Novaya Gazeta"

According to the observer of Novaya Gazeta, Alexei Tarasov, for the first time the abbreviation AUE sounded in 2010 during the riots in the Belorechensky educational colony in the Krasnodar Territory. In his material, he transfers incidents related to the concepts of AUE and have happened since then. The observer gives quotes of criminal chronicle (without indicating the exact source); For example, this: “16-year-old adherents AUE (with adult comrades) extorted money from a peer. He came to the arrow with his father, killed both, took the keys to the apartment, went, dealt with his mother, took household equipment. ”

According to Novaya, in December 2016, at a meeting of the Council for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights, his executive secretary Yana Lantratov informed Russian President Vladimir Putin about the planting in schools and boarding schools of criminal ideology and called it the “problem of national security”. According to the “new”, the scheme according to which the child is “recruited in AUE” looks something like this: two high school students are approaching the five- or sixth grader and begin to talk to him at “thieves Argo”, they talk about “concepts”, “zonian romance”, and then they ask to bring money for the “common fund”. So a 10-year-old child begins to steal, extort money and deceive his parents. According to Tarasov, it is impossible to get out of this “suddenly opened parallel abyss” - as a result, bringing adolescents to suicide and rape. The newspaper of the “New” also cites information about cases of the reprisals of adolescents against their peers - this is revenge for the behavior “not according to concepts”.

From the pages of the newspaper Tarasov, he turns to all parents with a warning: “If you think that you and your child will protect money, social status, a decent school, you are mistaken.”

He also writes that the idea of ​​AUE - initially regional - gradually becomes a “national idea” for modern children. “Shpan, gopota, gatherings in the common fund have always been. The involvement of children in the ideals of AUI also occurs with the help of social networks, as well as films and series, in which the image of the bandits is ennobled.

Young people from different regions of Russia are interested in prison romance - my colleagues tell me about this: human rights activists, lawyers, lawyers.

They also need performers - they do not want to commit crimes with their own hands. I think the ideology of AUE (it can be called as you like) was formed to influence young people and involve it in criminal activity. Children are taught to commit crimes and say that you will not be anything for this, since you still do not fall under criminal liability.

People associated with crime have been working with youth for a long time. Previously, 20–25 years ago, they wrote the so-called runs-something like samizdat newspapers that spread among prisoners, in them they also wrote about how to work with youth.

Historically, that our land is a sidelic one, in every second family, someone was either sitting or sitting now. Therefore, perhaps we have a greater extent in our influence. But one way or another it is common everywhere. Although there are simply no statistics on this subject.

The Irkutsk region borders with Transbaikalia and Buryatia, from there we also come to us a youth criminal subculture associated with thieves' traditions. In my opinion, all this is due to economic factors: these regions, compared with the Irkutsk region, are more backward, there is worse the infrastructure, higher unemployment, so it is easier to direct young people to the criminal path. Add here a crisis, a bad economic situation - this also affects the appearance of AUE.

The kids come to us for help, because they do not know which direction to move, they have not yet set priorities, do not know how to behave correctly.

According to them, involving a gang happens like this: senior comrades offer them to commit a petty unlawful act or just smoke, and then use this act for blackmail: if you do not do what I tell you, then I will tell your parents about everything. These guys who fall into this trap are about 12 years old - at this age it is easiest to influence them. We were told what was happening as if non -violently, the child seems to give the phone or money himself, no one forces him, but it is almost impossible to break out of this network.

These children gather in the gateways - there is simply nowhere to walk on them, they paint the walls of the wall with the abbreviation and tell each other “about life” stories. Senior comrades ennoble the criminal subculture, thieves romance, say that criminal authorities are the most decent people, they can be believed, and the police and the state are bad; They are criminals, and we are Robin Guda.

More often, children from dysfunctional families fall under this influence. Those who are interested in or studying well are more consciously related to life, it is more difficult for them to powder their brains-they have a goal, you can’t deceive them so simply. And if the child has problems with parents or with the law, if they live in incomplete or poor families, it is quite simple to influence them.

This, perhaps, expressed their desire for independence. “Concepts” passed from class to class, from generation to generation. Moreover, all this was combined in some amazing way with a different life-with pioneering and Komsomol organizations, reading serious books.

Now, thanks to the Internet, it has become even easier to distribute the laws of Aue. Previously, this was planted by viscaries: they involved minors, fascinated their idea of ​​will, unwillingness to obey anyone - not only parents and school, but also to the state. The police have always been antipode, now - the police.

Even then there were some insignia - tattoos. In some elderly people, you can sometimes see the Ira tattoo - and this is not the name of the first lover, but the abbreviation from "we are going to cut the asset." “Asset” are those who cooperate with the administration. Minor convicts often prompted “Zalobo” - “I will take revenge on all the cops very much”; Or evil - "I will avenge all the cops." Or the word "morning" with a pattern of the sun on the brush - “I will leave the path of my father” if, for example, my father was sitting. And these traditions, these words are like a game, and then it affects the subsequent life.

After all, we know very little about what is happening today in the so -called children's colonies, or colonies for minors. From there, AUE also goes, and goes a very rich stream, just specially no one explores this phenomenon.

A little statistics. Over the first three months of 2017, almost ten thousand minor criminals managed to identify in Russia, which is extremely few. I think that only in one area of ​​St. Petersburg you can catch so much. Moreover, if you compare this indicator with the previous year, then there was a drop in the registration of crime among minors by 23.2%. We all see what is happening in the country, and according to official statistics, the crime of minors disappeared. We have 24 educational colonies, which contain only 1649 minor criminals. In my opinion, this is one of the reasons why this infection now blooms and smells: no one is fighting with it.

AUE is a set of informal norms that are guided by adolescents. There is a law -abiding world - wrong, but there is a correct world - criminal. Aue adherents are trying to plant the right world, the right ideas, and the authorities are fighting them. By committing crimes, they do not think that they had harmed to someone, they believe that all this is good. So they justify their behavior, their lifestyle, endow their existence with a certain meaning.

This meaning consists in justifying an alternative lifestyle: everyone works - I do not work, a normal person tries to lead a sober lifestyle - I will drink and use drugs, a normal person creates a family - I will not create a family, I will consider the prison to my home home. They are also justified that they commit crimes against those who need to do this, that is, consider themselves to be someone like modern Robin Guds.

Each phenomenon has periods of take-off and fall: in the late 1980s, youth groups posed a greater public danger, there were cases when they seized or attempted to seize the district representative offices of the RUVD. In the 1990s, these representatives of youth groups became gangster elements, representatives of organized crime. In the 2000s, this phenomenon was subsided, and now he is again gaining popularity. But still, now the youth subculture is more diversified: in addition to AU, you can be a football fan and an anarchist.

In any society there is destructive forces, which are beneficial for children to carry the last things from home, send money through an electronic payment system, and consumed drugs.

I myself first encountered the term AUie ten years ago when I worked in the Central Federal District; In the South, where I worked before, I did not encounter this abbreviation. Now this term is already common in both Transbaikalia and the Far East.

Children from dysfunctional families whose parents abuse alcohol, the so -called outsiders are fruitful soil for the spread of Aue's ideas. After all, from an early age, they look at the world as something evil and unjust.

Not all criminal phenomena can be controlled. Although when they began to deal with skinheads, they began to pose a lesser public danger; Probably, it will reach AUE, but the phenomenon should be well studied, appropriate preventive measures should be developed.

It is very difficult to track children and minors with ideas, because law enforcement agencies do not report this. There is a code of silence. Children usually answer such questions monosyllabic - this is our secret, our brotherhood, and no one should find out about it.

At the same time, in order to leave this group, you need to attach certain forces and certain courage. After all, there is a saying: "Entrance to the thieves company is a ruble, and the exit is two."

Information is regularly received that somewhere in the regions there is a movement called AUE. About eight years ago, I heard about such a movement in the Krasnodar Territory, and last summer they started talking about him thanks to the performance of Yana Lantratova, who at that time was a candidate for the post of children's Ombudsman. It was about the fact that such a movement exists in Transbaikalia (mainly in villages and small cities).

What is there in reality is difficult to understand without committing a serious study in the specified Lantrait settlements. But from the very beginning, you need to understand that the phenomenon has two levels.

On the one hand, it would be foolish to deny the presence of a criminal environment in many Russian cities and towns; Especially in those where there are a lot of people who have been in prison - for example, in settlements located near the zones. In Russia, there are also spinning villages and villages with criminals in power - everything can be found. I fully admit that in such places, structures according to the type of AUI could form. Much depends on the leaders - if, say, the charismatic young criminal wants to organize such a movement at his place of residence, he can do this.

But I would not exaggerate the possibilities of the criminal environment. In my field practice there were two informants living in cities with prisons; There were many people who have served in these cities. But it is significant that local teenagers did not have any serious connection with the local prison, despite the fact that the 1990s stood in the yard. The prison lived her life, teenagers - her own. Here we must understand that crime is not interested in people know about him. The more people know about professional crime, the more it is vulnerable. To organize adolescents, to collect a penny from them “to the zone” is too dangerous and ineffective. Professional criminals have their own, rather closed circle of communication, which they are limited. “Civilians” usually eat only rumors about crime, and these rumors are little correlated with reality.

The second layer of information about AUI is the processes taking place on the Internet. This is the phenomenon of a completely different plan. It is little connected with social reality. This is a certain Internet folklore, I would compare the interest in AUE on the Internet not even with the traditional teenage interest in criminal style, but with children's horror stories: somewhere there are terrible “death groups”, fascists, and now the AUE meme has appeared. Children and adolescents know him, but this does not mean at all that they have at least something to do with crime.

Such games are not new. For example, in the mid-2000s, a wave of interest in gopniks swept in the “Live magazine”. A virtual image of a gopnik was created, in which Internet users played with enthusiasm-a cap, sports pants, a habit of squatting. Among visitors to LJ-communities dedicated to gopniks, there were exclusively educated city youth.

That is, considering the movement of AUE, we must distinguish between real social problems and virtual game. Judging by some last publications, not everyone distinguishes this.

I would also like to focus on the fact that the current wave of interest in Aue arose thanks to the performance of Yana Lantratova, who actually made advertising to this movement; Even Putin reacted to her report. Before us is an example of “moral panic” - someone reports through the mass media about a slight phenomenon and through this phenomenon receives information support. Thanks to reports in the media, everyone will learn about the phenomenon and begin to reproduce it. And now, instead of a marginal Transbaikal phenomenon, a fashionable All -Russian meme.
