One of the supporters of the Volya party was convicted

In the Moscow region, Volya party supporter Olga Avilkina received a suspended sentence of one and a half years.

On June 15, 2017, the Krasnogorsk City Court of the Moscow Region found Olga Avilkina guilty under Art. 282 of the Criminal Code (inciting hatred or enmity). The trial took place behind closed doors.

According to the prosecution, Avilkina sent an e-mail newsletter with a leaflet “Appeal to military personnel of the Russian army,” which was banned for distribution (twice - by the Leninsky District Court of Ulyanovsk and the Leninsky District Courtof Yekaterinburg ) and included in the Federal List of Extremist Materials (item 3246 ). We believe that the leaflet “Appeal to the Russian Army” in 2015 was generally rightfully recognized as extremist, since it contains an unambiguous call for a military coup. According to the “comrades-in-arms,” at the time of the alleged crime, the “Appeal” had not yet been included in the list.

In August 2016, the Volya party of Svetlana Peunova was liquidated following a lawsuit from the Ministry of Justice for distributing extremist materials. The Ministry of Justice asked to recognize Volya as an extremist organization on the grounds that it distributed prohibited materials, such as leaflets “We do not trust this government!” and "Address to the military personnel of the Russian Army."

In February 2016, Samara law enforcement agencies conducted searches in the houses of the founder of the ANO Development Academy and the leader of Volya, Svetlana Lada-Rus, formerly known as Peunova. She was charged under Part 3 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code (large-scale fraud). In June 2016, she was put on the federal wanted list, and in July - on the international wanted list. In July, a second criminal case was opened against Peunova under Article 111 of the Criminal Code (intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm committed by a group of persons). In addition, a case was initiated under Article 239 of the Criminal Code (creation of an organization that encroaches on the personality and rights of citizens). In July 2016, a court in Samara arrested Peunova in absentia.
