The detainees at the rally on July 12 in St. Petersburg talked about the fact that in the 33rd police department, employees sprayed pepper gas in the cells and did not let people out of the premises. After our publication of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in St. Petersburg, it confirmed that the police really used pepper gas in the 33rd department. According to activists, they became ill, they began to suffocate. Police officers refused to provide medical assistance, said that “it would pass”, but then they transferred the detainees from cameras to the basement where they spent the night.

In St. Petersburg, a suspect was detained in an attack on a fighter of the Russian Guard at a rally on June 12. His name is Vladimir Abrosimov, he is 32 years old, he is an unemployed chess player. The court sent Abrosimov under house arrest until August 13. He is accused of hitting the National Guard fighter in the back. Earlier it was reported that the attacked employee used the knife, but the Investigative Committee refuted this information.

The arrested at the rally on June 12 was held for five hours in the convoy room while the court was in his case. According to the defender of the detainee, the room described by his client is very similar to the premises of the Moscow City Court, in which, according to the defendants, people are tortured. As Mediazona wrote , several rings are attached to the walls there. It is assumed that they are handcuffed with the prisoner’s hand, but in fact, they say under investigation and defendants, the rings are used for torture: they fasten a person and beat him or leave him in this position for the whole day.

The missing activist, who had previously left the country, was found in jail. The Moscow activist Denis Bakholdin, who was missing in March, was found in the investigative insulator No. 1 in Bryansk. Bakholdin participated in monthly actions in support of political prisoners in the framework of Strategy-6, as well as in anti-war actions against the policy of the Russian authorities against Ukraine. He is accused of participating in the extremist community (Clause 2, Article 282.1 of the Criminal Code)

Briefly about the laws. A law entered into force , which equates meetings of deputies with voters to rallies. Now they must also be coordinated. Meetings in premises, specially designated places and in the courtyards of houses, deputies can still be held without notice. In addition, the ECHR recognized the law on gay propaganda among minors discriminatory. The Ministry of Justice wants to challenge this decision.

But there is good news (though only one). The Moscow City Court terminated the case and canceled the penalty for civil activist Tatyana Tarvid, she participated in a series of single pickets in support of convicted Ildar Dadin.
