A special issue of the IMEMO magazine "Pathways to Peace and Security" has been released: "Problems of Terrorism, Violent Extremism and Radicalization" (2017. No. 1(52))
The issue contains an article by Alexander Verkhovsky, Director of the SOVA Center, entitled "The Dynamics of Hate Crimes and Activities of Far-Right Groups and Movements in Russia in the 2010s."
The article analyzes the dynamics of hate crimes and activities far-right groups and movements in Russia, with a focus on national-radical organizations and activists who account for most of these crimes. The main characteristics are considered national-radical movement and its transition in the 2010s. from the street violence, pogroms and organization or participation in riots to anti-immigrant raids and vigilantism. An explanation is given for the ongoing the crisis of the national-radical movement and the decline of this type of violence.
