Moscow: Yuri Gorsky detained

On July 5, 2017, in Moscow, nationalist Yuri Gorsky was detained near the Moscow City Court building. Gorsky was detained as he was leaving the courthouse, where an appeal hearing in the case of nationalist Dmitry Demushkin was to take place.

On June 6, the nationalist was charged under Part 1 of Art. 280 of the Criminal Code (public calls for extremist activities). He was remanded in custody for 48 hours.

It was previously reported that a criminal case was opened after the May Day march of nationalists on the October Field in Moscow . Gorsky acted as the organizer of the procession. Gorsky was detained by police after the march. During the action, participants chanted “Ukraine - Maidan, Russia - Manezhka, barricades, tires, fire” and “11/5/17 revolution.” The Khoroshevsky District Court of Moscow arrested Gorsky for three days, finding him guilty of repeated violation of the procedure for holding a public event (Part 8 of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code). Gorsky was also fined one thousand rubles under Art. 19.3 for (disobedience to a lawful demand of a police officer).

Let us remind you that Yuri Gorsky left the ranks of the Nationalist Party in May, and he also had a number of disagreements with some of the leaders of the New Opposition. At this stage in the public space, he positions himself as the “speaker” of the “New Opposition” and the head of the nationalist movement “New Right Alternative”.
