Students and teachers of Moscow State University asked Putin to intervene in the case of Mathematics Bogatov

A letter of 1544 students, graduate students and teachers of Moscow State University in support of the mathematician Dmitry Bogatov, arrested for calls for terrorism, was transferred to the administration of Russian President Vladimir Putin. This was reported by Mediazona with reference to the teacher of the Mechanical and Mathematics faculty of Mikhail Lobanov.

Earlier, the same letter was transferred to the office of the rector of Moscow State University Viktor Sadovnichy.

The authors of the letter ask Putin and Sadovnichy to contact the RF IC for the “detailed consideration of the case”.

“In order to understand the details of the incident, it is necessary to understand how the Internet is arranged and what is the principle of operation of the Tor Browser. At the trial of the election of a preventive measure, the prosecution showed itself incompetent in the subject of the case, justifying its position only by the coincidence of IP addresses, ”the letter says.

Bogatov taught mathematics at the Moscow Financial and Legal University. He was accused of calling for terrorism and organizing riots. According to the investigation, Bogatov is related to the YouTube laid out on YouTube, as well as in social networks calls to reach unauthorized shares in Moscow and other cities on April 2.
