The American administration decides on the types and volumes of weapons supply to Ukraine. This was stated by Deputy Chairman of the Committee of the Chiefs of Staff of the US Armed Forces, General Paul Selva, TASS reports.
“The political question is not whether or not a lethal defensive assistance, but about the types and volumes of this lethal defensive assistance to Ukrainians, so that they can protect their sovereignty,” the agency of the American military leader quotes.
At the same time, Selva said that the Pentagon defends the idea of transferring weapons to Kyiv.
“We are extremely closely working between the Committee of Chiefs of Staff and the European Command to really prepare the requirements for the nomenclature of how fatal defensive assistance may look. It will be more than just the recommendation of the military. This will be a political choice, meanwhile, whether we will or will not transfer the tools that he needs to protect ourselves from what we consider to be supported by Russia with a rebel movement in the Donbass, ”the general said.
