In Germany, an attempt to sell a 12-meter statue of Lenin failed from the auction

A total failure ended the attempt to sell a 12-meter monument to Lenin from auction in Germany. It is reported by Die Welt.

The statue came to the collector from Schwabia after the authorities of many countries of the Eastern Bloc banned communist monuments, the publication indicates. Many years later, the owner tried to sell it at the auction for 150 thousand euros, but did not receive a single offer.

“Perhaps the time for monuments from the former social camp simply has not yet arrived,” Frank Elert, an auctionist from Potsdam, commented on failure.

It is indicated that the 12-meter statue of the leader of the world proletariat stood during the GDR at the Central Station of Dresden and was known as the “Red Station Warden”.
