Baltiysk: a case of publishing a xenophobic commentary on a news story on the Internet has been brought to court

In August 2017 in the city of Baltiysk, Kaliningrad region, a criminal case was initiated under Part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code against a 29-year-old local a resident suspected of posting a xenophobic comment on a social network the Internet. In April 2018, the case was referred to the court for consideration on the merits.

The case was initiated against a 29-year-old local resident who according to law enforcement agencies, in May 2016 he published on one of the local information portals some xenophobic comment to one of the news. It is reported that what was written was directed against representatives of a certain ethnic group.

Details, unfortunately, were not reported.

The young man pleaded not guilty.
