Engels: a criminal case regarding the publication of xenophobic comments on a social network has been brought to court

In August 2017, in the city of Engels, Saratov Region, there were a criminal case was initiated under Part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code against a local resident (1992 birth), suspected of posting xenophobic comments on the social network.

In August 2017, in the city of Engels, Saratov Region, there were a criminal case was initiated under Part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code (inciting a national hate).

The case was initiated against a local resident born in 1992, which, according to law enforcement agencies, from January to May 2016 published some xenophobic comments on his page on the social network VKontakte.

The investigation collected a sufficient evidence base, the criminal case was sent to the prosecutor for approval of the indictment and subsequent referral to the court for consideration on the merits.
