On December 28, 2017, the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation left the verdict of the Privolzhsky District Military Court unchanged, the appeals were not satisfied. The court recognized the term appointed to Kvachkov as legal, but canceled the recovery of about 200 thousand rubles from him for an examination of the case. The verdict to Kvachkov has entered into force - in the near future he will be transferred to the place of serving his sentence.

In 2013, Kvachkov was sentenced to 8 years in prison on charges of facilitating terrorist activities (part 1 of article 205.1 of the Criminal Code) and attempted armed rebellion (under part 3 of article 30 of article 279 of the Criminal Code). Earlier, V. Kvachkov was accused in the case of the attempt on the life of A. Chubais in 2005.
